The other thing I was glad not to miss was the galette des rois. JD brought one over last weekend. This of course is the cake for Epiphany that has a fève, formerly a bean but now a porcelain thingy, hidden in one slice; the person who gets it is the king or queen and gets to wear a paper crown. To ensure fairness, the youngest person sits under the table while someone cuts the cake and says which piece goes to which person. C did that for us, as the youngest by far:
