Crunch time

More sweet lovin' from McDonald's.

I've cancelled my trip to Lisbon. And I'm not going to be at the conference (CSSP) much today, most likely. (On the up side, my talk in Berlin in a couple of weeks is going to be called "Random Acts of Tenseless Beauty." :)

Yesterday mom and dad and I went to Versailles, where I staggered around sick; my mom is also getting this cold, so we make quite a pair. But Versailles is pretty amazing, especially after reading Antonia Fraser's biography of Marie Antoinette (which I recommend). You can check out some photos from yesterday at my flickr site.

Came back to the hotel and slept. Not feeling so hot today either.

The professional apartment person I hired yesterday hasn't gotten back to me yet. I'm protected by Paypal and Mastercard if it's a scam, but that would be really boring if it were a scam, so I'm choosing to believe it's not.

Lots of listings this morning, and I now have two places to see on Saturday. The prices look a bit better too, in part maybe because most of the students have somewhere to live, and in part because I realized that some places listed as "non-furnished" are actually a little bit furnished. Heck, I'd be happy to have a floor at the moment. Not clear where I'm going to be spending tomorrow night! Won't be on the streets, but it would be nice to have something.

This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I enjoy seeing websites that understand the value of providing a prime resource for free. I truly loved reading your post. Thanks!
