So I have a laptop to borrow for a while; it's running Linux, and things are not setting up very well quite yet, but I think it will be fine in the end.
I just feel like I've been running in place for so long...it would be nice to have things work.
Yesterday I didn't go into the lab because in the morning I discovered that my attempt to do a load of delicates in my washing machine hadn't gone very well. So I went out and bought a drying rack, finally, which took a remarkably long time. Also another thing for my hanging clothes, which meant I could finally get things organized. So that was good to do.
Oh! Also I got one of these caddy things, a bag on wheels, so I can wheel my groceries around, and the best part is: it folds up into a laptop-sized bundle, and weighs prolly under 2 pounds. Plus it was only 14 euros and is bright red. NOW how much would you pay?
Was going to go out last night with N at a bar in the 4th, but when I got there I noticed it was a lesbian bar, so we went instead to the Bombadier, to hang out with J and O. J's first day working for a bank! He seemed to have survived in any case. And N was celebrating being done with her masters' defense, her TOEFL exam, and her GREs, all of which happened in the last couple of weeks.
We sat outside...it was still only just warm enough to do so. Though, if there's any more of that tonight I'm going to have to order a hot toddy.
And...I've been cooking at my place! So far, macaroni one night, and chili last night. Having only one pot and one burner and nothing else necessitates some creativity. And I realized the only remotely peppery thing I had for the chili was a lot of basil. But a lot of basil can be pretty peppery.
There's a horn player nearby practicing...did I mention this building is a community music school?
