That's what I am going to do today, in any case! There's this paper on should that, well, should be done before D and M get here, and it's really a happy sort of paper, so that's my plan for the day.
Last night I went straight to the Bom from work, saw some francophone acquaintances there so got to practice French... eh, I'm kind of plateauing, I'm thinking of actually working on it somehow. Then off to a movie with Js, and turns out Wallace and Gromit was still playing at a different theatre, so I cheerfully saw it again. There's so much to watch.
We had a late dinner at a cheap Vietnamese place in the 5th, can you believe a set dinner for 9 euros including a glass of wine? Such a deal!
Walking home across Pont Sully, with the lights on the water, and the odd photographer with a tripod, and couples hand in hand here and there... I had one of those moments where I pinch myself and say, yeah, yeah, I'm living in Paris.
This morning I felt much the same way, as the sun was shining in a blue sky. I had to sing "Jeremy Newborn Street" on my way to the Gare de Lyon ("What can I say, it's a beautiful day..."). Still tweaking my commute, I discovered that you don't have to go up the hill to the Gare de Lyon and then downstairs to the RER; you can just enter on that level. And then did some editing on the train, which worked nicely, until I got to work and had the internet to play with.
Tonight it's imperative that I go home and do a first ritual cleaning of my apartment before D and M show up on Saturday. Funny how I've been managing to go out every night this week, without even trying. But not tonight. Thursday is the new Monday, haven't you heard?
