Thanks to Nn's persistence in not letting me convince him of something the other night, I was able to finish figuring out the basics of the paper today; I'm very happy with how things went, and now I just have to finish writing it.
The electrician was here again, fixing the electricity again. It's fixed now, but I need to get EDF to come back and sign off on it.
Beaujolais Nouveau night...apparently it's better this year than usual. I had a glass of it with A tonight. I wouldn't say it tastes like Koolaid, but it certainly tastes like a nice summer drink. Too bad it's not summer.
We then went to this place that D had noticed on rue Saint Antoine when he and M were here; cheap moules frites (mussels and fries). And a lovely tarte aux pommes (apple tart). So next time you come here, guys, let's eat there. Only, the door sticks open sometimes, and it's kind of chilly out. Other than that it was perfectly lovely. Cheap too! They take "tickets restaurants", those food coupons I get from my employer (they pay half), officially to compensate for the fact that there's no cafeteria at my workplace, but you can use them for dinner too.
I should note that whenever I see "Saint Antoine" I think of the Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer song that goes:
Hey conductor,
Does this train go to Texas?
With a hoot and a holler all the way down to San' Antone?
I said, hey conductor,
Does this train go to Texas?
Got a dime and a dollar and a one-way ticket home.
We walked to my place, watched another Buffy (it's funny how young the actors were in the first season...especially Anthony Stewart Head!), and then I began yawning uncontrollably, but of course it's been an hour since I kicked A out and here I am still on the internets. Time to sleep!
Oh, and the little fountain I had ordered came today, which will be good for the meditating.
