Good morning from the Café Français, where the waiter made my day today when he said to me "Chocolate chaud et un croissant?" without my even having to tell him!
The bad news is, I tried calling EDF today about my lectricity and the woman on the other end obviously didn't know how to deal with non-native speakers, kept saying "Je ne comprend pas" ('I don't understand'), which was just not helpful at all. But the good news is, my landlord returned my call, and he is dealing with EDF now. Apparently he was told everything was fine too, so it's not clear at all why they turned it off (and I won't charge him for the beers).
Ugh ugh ugh!
Meanwhile, I have a lot of work to do, so I guess I will try to do it while I hang around waiting for EDF to get its act together.
Thank goodness (or thanks mom and bro) for plusqueparfait. Without a computer I'd be truly foutu.
