Christmas in Paris, part 2

Since I'm still on Paris time I thought I would post some of the other photos I took there.

The city puts up Christmas trees, but in some squares it actually puts up little groves of trees. The one near me was notable for the fact that it was obviously laid out so that people could walk through the grove.

Here are some examples of Christmas trees for sale. Not all of them are wrapped like these. I found the wrapping reminiscent of some great Christmas Spider. Note the crazy spray-painted colors in the second photo!

I was very pleased to see that Giant Microbes have made it to Europe.

Marzipan. At the time I didn't notice that one of the baskets has marzipan fruits with rather baleful faces.

And more baleful faces on some marzipan Santas at a fancy artisanal chocolate store. Why do marzipan and balefulness go together?

Finally, I've posted the (~10 meg) video from one of the windows at the Galeries Lafayette at Castpost. Do check it out if you have the bandwidth. The marionettes really are amazing.
