I woke up to rain and an even more sore throat than yesterday. So I worked at home, until it got sunny and I got bored, and then I went to the café where I was to meet linguistics friend Rk and her linguistics friend S, did some work for a while, looked at the lovely book that arrived from my Aunt B today (thanks, Aunt B!), and then Rk and S came, and that was fun as well as networking. Caught up with J-D and we were both super exhausted tired; we went to his friends' restaurant again, where I had a gorgeous green salad with lentils that made me think of J, who has a great love for yummy lentils. And beef stroganoff, and tarte tatin. J-D and I were so tired. But even that tired, he refuses to speak in French while I speak in English for some reason, though I think that's a perfectly good way to deal with being tired (everyone speak their own native language).
I have realized lately that I much preferred living on the west coast for calling people in my home time zone. I definitely feel like calling people in the morning. In the evening, not so much. I kinda just want to go to sleep. This pattern worked very well in LA but not so well in Paris. Hrmf. Would like to talk to people more, though.
