April in Paris

Yeah, "April in Paris" should have been "May in Paris," but it didn't scan. It's chilly still. JD told me a French proverb, "En avril, ne te découvrir découvre pas d'un fil. En mai, fais fait ce qu'il te plaît." ('In April, don't take off a thread,' i.e., keep wrapped up; 'in May, do what you like.') But it's been pretty sunny. And today the marathon came by Bastille. I love watching marathons. And it inspired me to go for a run today in the nice chilly-weather running outfit my mom got me for my birthday (thanks, Mom!).

So...spring. There are a number of exhibitions I'd like to see this month or next: photography of LA at the Pompidou, Inca art at the Petit Palais, Ingres at the Louvre (and yes, that painting is plastered all over the city).

I'm dying to get to Giverny when there are more things in bloom, too. I'd like to do a picnic on the Pont des Arts, walk around La Butte aux Cailles, explore libraries in central Paris (since I won't be working at the lab for a while). And, and, and, it's getting to be time for me to get a bike! :)

I'm around tonight, and skypable until let's say 11 my time (5 on the East Coast).
