From the Bibliothèque Sainte Geneviève

Hey! There's internet at the Bibliothèque Sainte Geneviève, in the 5th! There's a huge reading room you can work in, with an elaborate system of letting people in. It's free to register, but it's a madhouse, with a line outside of people waiting to get in! But... in two weeks I can pick up the Very Special Card that says I'm not a student, which will give me more privileges as yet unguessed-at. Maybe I'll get to jump the line. I must say I do feel awfully old here! But it's a great place to work.
