Just saw off bro and M and the dawg... see, she of the four feet had been here at my parents' house while D and M were on their honeymoon in Bora Bora and New Zealand. Anyway, we got to see and hear how beautiful it all was, and it was priceless to get a chance to catch up with D and M one more time this summer, minus all the wedding guests and wedding hoo-ha. And no, I didn't take any photos this weekend, I'm all photoed out.
Today... sat around on the beach with my parents and my Aunt B and tried to keep the sun off the sunburn I got yesterday... went kayaking... life's good.
I'm heading back to France on Thursday. (The hot weather there seems to have broken, thank God.) But before then, lots of family, beach, some last-minute American purchases.
Oh, here's a long-overdue shout out: While I've been gone, JD has been an angel dealing with a document needed for my titre de séjour (I'd already given it to the bloody bureaucrats in June, thank you very much, but welcome to France). And he's also handling a number of details with this Buddhist retreat we're going to be going on once I get back. Thanks, JD! À bientôt!
