And not much has changed now that Sarko is president. Except that now, when I walk along rue St. Antoine near Bastille around 6 or 7 in the evening, there are 8 or ten minibuses and two real buses of riot police, hanging out waiting for les casseurs (hooligans, literally the people who break things).
