Workshop in French

Went to this workshop in French today with C and B, on one of the CNRS campuses south of Paris; always nice because they have a great big sign outside so you know you're getting close. And it was a bright sunny day to be in the suburbs; there were actually birds!

It was all in French, which was tough for me, but because linguists have handouts, and because they were talking about stuff I know about, I was able to follow along and ask questions (in French! My advisor would be proud). But I really didn't catch more than half of what was being said, and that's not a lot. Fortunately, I don't think I lost much by just reading the handouts.

I'm starting to think that caffeine doesn't agree with me. Just from hot chocolate and tea...I'm getting this wired feeling, which is I think why I don't drink that much caffeine in the first place.

Perhaps the French are worldly enough to have green tea...half the caffine of black.
