I'm at the Café Baz'Art, cheaper than the Café Français because it's not on Place de la Bastille, and much cozier, and the wireless is every bit as good. Hot chocolate isn't, but it's still a step up from the usual American fare.
I slept late this morning; I was a bit not relaxed last night. I got work done yesterday, but also got very stuck with the paper. I did the right thing and worked on other things, and met with Nn at the Bom to talk through the paper, which helped immensely even though he didn't have the magic fairy dust to actually solve my problem. But it's just good to talk things out. M gamely came along and worked on other things while we were going on about possible worlds, and then we all went to a crèperie on Rue Mouffetard (btw, I have discovered how to do accents on my keyboard, I hope they will show up right when I post this!). For 10 euros, you can either get a special fancy crèpe and a glass of hard cider, or you can get TWO not-fancy crèpes, one salty and one sweet. So we did the latter. The not-fancy salty crèpes had things like egg and mushrooms and ham and cheese and tomatoes in them. The sweet ones went from sugar and butter to apples, ice cream, and whipped cream. What's not to like? Say, that is a big deal!
So I guess I did get relaxed at dinner, but yeah, falling asleep I had trouble letting go of wanting to finish this paper! Getting better at that, though. Anyway, for the next three days I need to be working on a presentation on evidentials I'm giving on Monday.
M leaves this afternoon; Js told us about a bus that goes right to CDG from Gare de Lyon. I'm liking my neighborhood more every day. It will be too bad not to have M around, though!
