(Wednesday night)

I had my first dinner party tonight, with M and Js! I made chili, and we had salad and bread and cheese, and had to wash our bowls between courses, and we didn't realize it was my first dinner party until we were almost done.

Also...as I was cooking I found a light over my stove that I hadn't seen before, hidden behind a piece of molding, and it works. This is important because there's no overhead light (conspicuously so...the wires are hanging out of the ceiling) and I had been using the bathroom light to light the kitchen at night, which isn't very satisfying.

More good work today, and a nap while M went to look at shops. I'm getting back into the swing of things.

M just chose a handful of the Paris walk cards that Aunt C gave me before I left...there's a deck of 50 different walks, with the map on one side and the explanation of what you're seeing on the back. I've definitely used them as references for my neighborhood, but haven't had a chance to walk around with them. I need to start saving weekends for that, I think. I'd like to go with M to the Chateau de Vincennes and Butte aux Cailles but this week it's just not happening.
