After doing some errands in the morning, I worked all afternoon. Nn came over with his computer and worked too, and we had yummy noodles for dinner. It's good to talk to another semanticist, and also, he's doing the familiar chronic low-grade dissertation-year stressing, which if I can't exactly help him with it, I can at least lend a sympathetic ear and tell him everything's going to be all right.
I got done with a particular stage of things, and then I wasn't able to start working again. It's okay though. Downloaded some yoga podcasts and did some yoga. My old yoga teacher in LA (earthspoweryoga.com) has some things online, not for free, but he's worth it, so I bought one.
Yesterday, I didn't mention, I had my first fieldwork session with the contact language not being English. I did fine. It made it go even slower than usual though! The consultant, Hb, is a student of Paris 8 professor AZ-H's.The language is Haitian Creole, and it's nice to contemplate working on something without an imminent deadline...
But I do have to be concerned with the imminent deadlines...
The good news is, I think I can talk about part of the paper in Stuttgart. I need to make the link to mood, but I have a good idea how I'm going to do that. Then just to figure out what to talk about December 10th in Paris...both of these workshops are pretty serious deals.
