(Tuesday night)

We just had a tasty meal at Les Philosophes, on a little square off Vielle du Temple in the 4th (tarte tatin a tomate, yummmm) followed by even tastier gelato a few doors down. The last meal here with D and M. D leaves tomorrow morning, but M is staying a few more days.

It was sunny this morning...eventually D and M got up for lunch, at which we had the following conversation: "Can I have some of your croque monsieur [bread grilled with ham and cheese]?" "Sure, croque yourself out."

D and M rode bicycles around Paris and apparently it was just gorgeous, a real highlight of the trip. I want to do that sometime...I think I'm going to be buying a bike, not quite yet, but soon.

I got some good work done today...and I feel so much more human to be getting my email back together.

Now, we are going to finish off Napoleon, as it were, before going to sleep.

Too bad D is leaving so soon...it's been fun having him and M here, though it does make the apartment a bit like one of those puzzles where you have to slide the numbered tiles around.
