Another one out of the park, and learned lots

Well! That was genuinely a pleasure.

I didn't have to talk in French, which is a good thing, because I couldn't even read the French on the handout out loud without stumbling. So I didn't even try to talk in French, since everyone said I could speak in English. And boy did the whole thing go well. Instead of a big fancy conference like the last time, this was the opening meeting of my lab group I was hired to project-manage. And so it was high pressure in a different way. But I knew everyone, I knew what I was doing, I exceeded everyone's expectations, and indeed they exceeded mine. In fact, the discussion -- about foundational issues in aspect -- was so good, and people had such great ways of stating things in the right way, that I really would almost like to take my handout and turn it into a paper, cowritten with C and B and a few of the other people who had a lot to say. We may well put together a volume of papers, I think that is what happened for the last project. If so I definitely want to do that.

And I'm tired. But I have a date tonight with this nice guy I met on Friday.

I'm so happy that you are excited about the project and your first adventure with this group was so positive. But you know I believe in you!
