I was not really up for much in the way of going out, but K and P called, and came over, and K gave me the promised massage. We played with the biofeedback game, ate some cheese, and drank some wine. It turns out that P just got into an engineering PhD program at UMass Amherst, so they're unexpectedly going back to the states in two weeks or so! So it was good to hang out with them. (Even though they are so loooouuuud....) Eventually we started making the beef stew I had had in mind for myself...in that tiny little pot I have. And K did some MacGuyver magic with some rice in the frying pan and the butter wrapper on top of it to get it to steam.
I had had plans to have a drink or something with J-D, but as the stew was still on the stove, he just joined us. And that's how I had a dinner party without really expecting to! I'm pleased that I had enough stuff in my house to do that. Well, K and P brought two bottles of wine.
P thinks I should get a juicer. He and K have been living with his mom, who only eats raw foods, and he says he feels much better for it. Though of course whenever they go out they have meat. :)
I'm going to see an English-speaking doctor today, finally. The trick (J-D told me this) was to go to the social security place and ask for an attestation saying that even though I don't have the actual card yet, I am indeed covered.
