Le La manif

Well, that was quite something. I went for a couple of hours to take photos.

I'm delighted to see that even the phenomenologists are on strike.

I could hear the noise of the demonstration from here for an additional two hours. Now it seems to have quieted down.

Check out the rest of the photos on my flickr site. Unfortunately I can't seem to rotate the vertical shots at the moment. On the up side, as soon as I put these photos up, tagged with "paris bastille manifestations demonstrations cpe", they immediately got a huge number of hits. Woo hoo! Nothing like being timely.

Okay, better stop and get ready for dinner; Tn is coming over (she's the engineer with the dog, though she's not bringing her dog).

UPDATE: Okay, I got the rotation working. Another thing I forgot to add was that I put my hair in pigtails (that's ponytails, for some dialects) before I went out to take photos, because if there were any casseurs I wanted them to think I was as young and harmless as possible. It worked so well that the policeman who asked me to get off the bridge over the Port de Plaisance actually not only called me "mademoiselle," but also used tu. (Just how young do I look in pigtails exactly??)
