Cultural lesson for the week: Today is Pentecost, which means that it used to be a holiday, but the government turned it into a not-holiday in order to pay for social programs, after the heat wave a few years back when so many elderly people died for lack of such programs. The bbc explains further, in its frightfully British way.
Anyway, I did go in today, but it was very weird and empty everywhere.
