Do you always wait for the longest day of the year and then miss it?

Tomorrow is the summer solstice, which in Paris means that it's the Fête de la Musique. All night there is music, in churches and cafés and clubs, yes, but also on street corners. I was here for this two years ago when Jf and I came to France, but that was the day we got in, so I'm looking forward to experiencing it without jetlag. JD and I are going to meet up with Tn (her sweetie Mk is back in Metz, where he and the dog live) and wander around.

I can deal with such events by not planning what to do at all, but really, I'm happier planning things within an inch of their lives -- and then being willing to be spontaneous. So I made a little Excel chart of the bands and choirs and groups that are playing that seemed interesting to me, with the time that it's going on, so at a glance, tomorrow, we'll be able to figure out where we want to wander, if we're ever at a loss. I do want to make sure we catch the organ concert in Notre Dame.
