Hello from the wilds of my conference

Sorry again to be so quiet. I've been busy planning this conference. And I'm pleased to say it's going very, very well in almost every possible way. 

I'm going to get back to posting afterwards. Actually, I'm feeling it very keenly that I haven't been keeping so well in touch with a lot of my friends lately, so I'm going to take steps to remedy that. In the last three days, nevertheless, I received, by snail mail, a nice note from Jf wishing me well on the conference, a postcard from noo from Serbia (of all places! what were you doing in Serbia?) and a nice note from Jo and Cn and their new baby. Thanks for still believing
in my existence, guys; I'll be in touch shortly.
