Sorry for not blogging about the election

So there's this election going on. Sorry I haven't blogged about it. It's not because I have nothing to say about it; in fact, I have some photos of election posters I want to share with y'all. It's rather that I've been busy. On the other hand, after the first round, JD started a blog (sorry, though, it's in French).

Tonight was the big debate between the two candidates who made it past the first round, Ségo and Sarko, representing the left and the right respectively. I don't know anyone who is really excited about either one of them, and most people I know think Sarkozy is quite dangerous. I know many people who voted for the center(-right) candidate François Bayrou in the first round, but none of them were really excited about him, either.

Unlike everyone else in France, I didn't watch the debate tonight, having other plans. But now that I'm seeing the clips on TV, something struck me as bizarre, aside from the fact that Ségo is wooden and awkward, which I already knew. What was unusual to me was the fact that in France they have actual debates between candidates, where they talk to (and often, over) each other. What crazy madness is this?!?!
