Snow! And getting back into the swing of things

I woke up today to a light snow. Hooray! It didn't stick much, though, and it was gone by noon. Still, it was snow. :)

My life is getting back to normal after the conference, which went really, really well, both organizationally and intellectually. It was interdisciplinary in the best way, one where it's actually useful to share thoughts with people who think differently, because they don't think so differently from you that you have nothing to say to them. I had a brief moment of panic before the first philosopher started talking, but in the end, the linguists liked him. And we loved the psychologist, who absolutely blew us away.

Trying, then, to get back to normal. Normal, only a little better. I made a shopping and cooking plan this week for dinners, which is going quite well, and makes my and JD's life a lot easier (especially when we need to plan ahead of time which apartment we're going to be eating at). We are going to have a fabulous year, and eating better is going to be a part of that. Exercise too, but one thing at a time.

On that note, I came back to a flat front tire on my bike, so I haven't biked since getting back. My little hand pump puts enough air into it that I can tell it will hold air, but not enough to actually ride on it. Will borrow a pump from A or An.
